Box Score

Brittany Wells led all scorers with 16 points, and Kentucky Wesleyan cruised past Cumberland (Tenn.) in their home season-opener at the Owensboro Sportscenter on Saturday afternoon.

It was a wire-to-wire victory for Kentucky Wesleyan, who have now won two straight contests and improve to 2-1 overall on the season.

Both teams got off to slow starts, but the Panthers turned the jets on both offensively and defensively in the second half to really put the contest out of reach.

Late in the third quarter, KWC led 42-30, and then proceeded to go on an 18-4 run to blow the game open at 58-34, after Sydney Morabito drilled back-to-back three point field goals.
