Kentucky Wesleyan (2-1) lost their first contest of the season, after falling 88-72 to No. 2 Lincoln Memorial in the Panthers' first game of the Small College Basketball Hall Of Fame Classic in Evansville on Friday evening.

Despite trailing in the early stages of the game, the Panthers weathered the storm and evened up the game at 28-28 with under four minutes left in the half. Kentucky Wesleyan converted on a three straight possessions, and Jordan Jacks also completed a three-point play to put KWC ahead of the Railsplitters, 35-28. The Panthers finished the half shooting 50 percent.

The Panthers got off to a hot start in the second half, and extended their lead out to 47-42 after out-scoring LMU 12-9 in the first four minutes of play.

After that, the Panthers struggled mightily to match Lincoln Memorial's hot shooting. The Railsplitters went on several spurts throughout the second half to put the game out of reach.

Kentucky Wesleyan's last lead of the night was at 51-50 after Jordan Jacks scored on a contested layup. Lincoln Memorial went on a 13-0 run to blow the game open at 63-51. The Panthers made multiple attempts to close the gap, but were unsuccessful in all their tries and couldn't shore the gap down any closer than seven points.

The Panthers shot just 28 percent in the second half on 11-38 shooting. LMU also added 25 points off of turnovers. The Railsplitters out-scored KWC 55-37 in the second half.

Lincoln Memorial knocked down 12 three-pointers in the contest. LMU's Luquon Choice led all scorers with 28 points, including shooting 8-12 from long range.

The Panthers finished with five players scoring in double figures. Jordan Jacks fueled KWC with 17 points and 10 rebounds. Michael Vigilance also chipped in with 12 points and seven rebounds. Charles Foster scored 12 points, while Ken-Jah Bosley added 11 points and seven rebounds, and Adam Stanford chipped in with 10.  Bosley also led the Panthers with a team-high three assists.

Kentucky Wesleyan will play in the final game of the Small College Basketball Hall Of Fame Classic tomorrow night at 8:30 p.m. against rival Southern Indiana. Saturday evening's game will be streamed live on ESPN3 and WatchESPN.
