Kentucky Wesleyan (1-0) took care of business in their season-opener at home on Friday evening at the Sportscenter against Wayne State in the GLIAC/G-MAC Challenge. The Panthers cruised to a 71-54 victory to start the season off on the right note.

KWC led 35-30 at the break, and increased their lead out to 20 points during the game. Kentucky Wesleyan held the Warriors to under 40 percent shooting in the contest.

Ken-Jah Bosley led the Panthers' offense with a team-high 22 points. Bosley shot 7-10 from the field, and nailed all seven free throws. Bosley also dished out five assists.

Jordan Jacks tallied 18 points and five rebounds, along with knocking down eight free throws. The Panthers shot 87 percent from the charity stripe as a team in the contest. Jacks also notched four steals.

Michael Vigilance nearly tacked on a double-double after recording 10 points and a team-high nine rebounds.

Josh Derksen and Shaakir Lindsey each chipped in with seven points apiece. Charles Foster collected five assists on the night too.

When the horn sounded, KWC finished the game shooting 48 percent from the floor on 24-50 made field goals. Kentucky Wesleyan's defense also forced 21 turnovers on Wayne State.

The Panthers will be back in action on Saturday afternoon against Tiffin. Tip-off at the Sportscenter is set for 3:15 p.m.
