Kentucky Wesleyan fell in three sets to Trevecca in Great Midwest Athletic Conference play on Tuesday evening at Jones Gym. The final score of the match was (25-17, 26-24, and 25-12). With the loss, Kentucky Wesleyan drops to 7-9, (2-3 G-MAC) on the season.
The first set of the contest was close early on. Trevecca led 12-10, before erupting on an 11-4 run to lead 23-15. The Panthers were able to hold off two set points before dropping the first set.
Kentucky Wesleyan controlled the majority of the second set. After a block assist from Autumn Harris and Elizabeth Gober, the Panthers were out in front 16-14. The Trojans would rally and re-took the lead at 23-19. KWC fought back into the set, and won three consecutive points to even the score at 24. Trevecca won the final two points of the set off of kill attempts.
In the final set, the Panthers got dug into a quick hole. Trailing 14-5 in the early stages, KWC was unable to produce a rally, and committed nine errors in the set.
Audrey Baysinger led KWC in the kills column with a team-high 10. Mallory Sacre tallied nine, and Autumn Harris posted six kills. Harris led Kentucky Wesleyan with three blocks in the match.
Kylie Foster recorded 31 assists and eight digs. Hannah Pierce generated a team-high 10 digs, while Mackenzie Harness also registered nine.
Kentucky Wesleyan will play at home on Saturday afternoon at Jones Gym against the University of the Cumberlands. The match is set for a 1 p.m. CT start.
