Kentucky Wesleyan will play on the road against North Carolina-Pembroke this weekend. Saturday's game will be played at Scotland High School in Laurinburg, N.C. (Pate Stadium) at 1 p.m. CT. Kentucky Wesleyan enters Saturday's contest at with an overall record of 1-5. KWC lost last weekend on the road at Northwestern State, 49-7. The Panthers defeated the Braves last season at Steele Stadium 39-31.
Saturday's matchup will be just the second meeting all-time between the schools.
Wide receiver Keelan Cole currently ranks within the top ranks in the nation for receiving yards per game, total receiving yards, yards per-reception, receiving touchdowns, and all-purpose yards.
Cole has also won G-MAC Offensive Player Of The Week accolades twice already this season.
The Braves enter Saturday with an overall record of 5-1. UNCP is currently 5-1 on the season, and won their last matchup on Saturday against Lenoir-Rhyne 36-20. The Braves average 34 points per game, and give up only 23 on average to opposing teams.
UNCP also averages 236 passing yards per contest, and rushes for 166, with a total average of over 400 yards of offense each game.
The Panthers average 15 points per game, and average 252 yards of total offense per contest. Keelan Cole has recorded all seven touchdown receiving receptions for KWC this season.
Kentucky Wesleyan was held to a season-low seven points last Saturday at FCS opponent Northwestern State.
KWC is set to return to Steele Stadium next Saturday, where they play host to Ashland.
