Kentucky Wesleyan fell in straight sets in Tiffin, Ohio on Tuesday evening in non-conference play. With the loss, the Panthers fall to 7-11 on the season. Tiffin ousted the Panthers 25-12, 25-18, 25-13. The Dragons and Panthers met earlier in the year in Owensboro for the KWC Invitational in September, where Tiffin swept the Panthers.
Kentucky Wesleyan committed four service errors and 23 attack errors in the match. KWC fell behind in the first 14-6, and was unable to close the gap as Tiffin extended their advantage out to 23-11 before closing out the set.
In the second, the Panthers held on to an early 7-6 until the Dragons went on rally and claimed a 15-10 lead. KWC tried cut the deficit, but still trailed 22-18 later on in the set. Tiffin won the final three points of the set.
Tiffin began the third set with a large lead, and closed out the match for good. Kentucky Wesleyan committed eight errors in the set. Tiffin used their size at the net, and collected seven blocks in total in the match.
Gabrielle Gallois produced a team-high seven kills for the Panthers. Nicole Venema recorded 13 digs, while Kylie Foster notched 25 assists. Mackenzie Harness and Emily Yocom each tallied eight digs.
Kentucky Wesleyan will stay in Ohio, and will take on Notre Dame College in Euclid on Thursday afternoon for another non-conference match. Game time is currently set for 3 p.m. CT.
