Basketball opens up G-MAC play at Cedarville

The Kentucky Wesleyan men's basketball team will travel to Cedarville, OH for their first Great Midwest Athletic Conference contest. Saturday's game will begin at 1 p.m. CT. The Panthers (12-2) have won three straight games, including a 33 point blowout past Oakland City on Wednesday evening at the Sportscenter. The Panthers shot nearly 60% from the field against the Mighty Oaks.

Cedarville comes into Saturday's game with a record of (5-8, 0-1 G-MAC). The Yellow Jackets have dropped three consecutive games, and lost their first conference contest at home last Saturday to Trevecca 81-69.  The Yellow Jackets are also only 4-6 at home so far this year.

Cedarville is averaging 66.5 points per game as a team, and is shooting 42 percent from the field on average per contest. They also have three players who are averaging double figures in scoring. The Yellow Jackets are led by J.C. Faubion, who is scoring 16.2 points per game, and bringing in 7.2 rebounds each game. Easton Bazzoli and Patrick Bain are both scoring just over 10 points each game.

As a team, Kentucky Wesleyan is scoring nearly 85 points per game, but the Panthers' defense is holding opponents to only 69 points per contest. In four out of their past five matchups, Kentucky Wesleyan has held opponents to under 70 points. In their past two games, the Panthers held King and Oakland City to just 37 percent shooting from the floor.

Kentucky Wesleyan has four players who are scoring in double figures. Ken-Jah Bosley leads the Panthers with 17.6 points per game. He has led KWC in scoring in seven games this season.

Devin Langford is scoring 15.2 points per game, Jordan Jacks is averaging 14, and C.J. Blackwell is scoring 11.3 points per game. Blackwell is coming off of a single-game career high at KWC with 21 points against Oakland City.Basil Deveaux also scored nine points in Wednesday's game.

Jordan Jacks has led KWC in rebounding in 10 of the 14 contests throughout the year. He is also the team-leading rebounder with 8.5 per game. Jermaine Morgan is also averaging 5.5 boards per game. Marcus Fillyaw and Tamron Manning are the main ball distributors for the Panthers, and are averaging 3.8 and 2.8 assists per game respectively.
