KWC set to face Limestone

Game notes

The Kentucky Wesleyan College football team will look to bounce back from last week's season-opening loss to Murray State when the Panthers travel to face Limestone at The Reservation in Gaffney, South Carolina.

KWC (0-1) will look for quarterback Dalton Oliver to build on last week's 204-yard, one-touchdown performance against the Racers, with wide receivers Keelan Cole and Xavier Mitchell serving as the Panthers' primary downfield threats. Mitchell had nine catches for 77 yards last week, while Cole had four receptions for 36 yards.

Cole, who received preseason All-America honors from several publications, had eight catches for 175 yards and a school single-game record four touchdowns against Limestone last year, which resulted in a 43-41 KWC victory at Steele Stadium on Nov. 1.

The Saints (0-0) finished 2-9 last year and will open their 2015 schedule relying on production from quarterback Jonathan Clark, who threw for 1,419 yards and 10 touchdowns with 16 interceptions. Against the Panthers last season, Clark completed 21-of-34 passes for 317 yards with three touchdowns and three interceptions.

On the ground, Limestone will use DeAnthony Neal, who ran for 736 yards and six scores last season. The Panthers will feature running back David White, who had 39 rushing yards against Murray State.

Kickoff is set for noon.
