Box Score After ending the season winning seven of their last eight, Kentucky Wesleyan baseball opened the Great Midwest Athletic Conference tournament this evening against Cedarville, a team they split with in the regular season.
The Panthers took the lead in the third inning on a
Troy Paris sac fly to go up 1-0, but the offense sputtered from there. Cedarville tied the game in the fourth and then took the lead, 3-1, on a single and an error in the seventh.
Kentucky Wesleyan had no response for the Yellow Jackets, falling by that same 3-1 score.Â
Dennon Koziol had a pair of hits for the Panthers and Nate Stemle scored the only run.
Sammy Holder took the loss, despite pitching well, allowing nine hits and three runs (two earned) in a complete game. He also K'd five.
Kentucky Wesleyan will try to avoid elimination tomorrow when they face the number one seed in the G-MAC Tournament, Trevecca, tomorrow. First pitch for that contest is scheduled for 2:15 CT.
