Crystal Hopkins, a sophomore thrower from Mount Vernon, N.Y. (Woodlands HS), was named the Great Midwest Athletic Conference Co-Field Athlete of the Year by league coaches at the G-MAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Saturday in Cedarville, Ohio.
Hopkins won the G-MAC titles in the shot put with a conference record throw of 12:82 meters and the hammer with a KWC and league record toss of 40.58 meters. She also received First Team and All-Freshman Team recognition. Hopkins also earned the G-MAC's Indoor Field Athlete of the Year in March.

Cornelia Thomas, a freshman from Memphis, Tenn. (Northpoint Christian HS), won the G-MAC title in the discus with a KWC and G-MAC record throw of 37.94. She also received First Team and All-Freshman Team recognition.

Thomas finished second to Hopkins in the shot put (12.10m) and fifth in the hammer (36.07m).

Rachel Keeley, a freshman from Owensboro (Owensboro HS), set a new KWC record as she placed fifth in the 3,000 meter steeplechase (12:40.04). She received All-Freshman Team recognition.

Sarah McDonald, a freshman from Owensboro (Daviess County HS) tied for fifth in the pole vault (2.30m). She received All-Freshman Team recognition.

Alex Velez, a freshman from Philpot, Ky., ran a 2:30.93 in the 800 meters to break a KWC record.

Lucas Butler, a freshman from Brandenburg, Ky. (Meade County HS), earned second team All-G-MAC honors plus All-Freshman Team recognition for his second place finish in the 400 meter intermediate hurdles with a KWC record time (59.30). He also finished third in the 110 high hurdles (17.63).

Third team All-G-MAC honors went to the relay teams of
Demetrius Frazier, a sophomore from Lebanon, Tenn. (Lebanon HS):
Bryant Qualls, a sophomore from Harrodsburg, Ky. (Mercer County HS);
Griffin Kelley, a junior from Owensboro (Owensboro HS); and Dakota Risse, a freshman from Grandview, Ind. (South Spencer HS); for placing third in the 4x400 meter relay with a KWC record time (3:31.18).

Qualls placed third in the 800 meters run with a KWC record (1:57.42). Frazier also finished fifth in the 100 meter dash (11.54). Risse also set a new KWC record in the long jump (6.0m).

Seth Applegate, a sophomore from Shelbyville, Ill. (Shelbyville HS), placed fifth in the 10,000 meters with a KWC record time (35:32:33).

The Panthers close their outdoor season at the Bellarmine Invitational on April 25 in Louisville.
