Box Score 2 Kentucky Wesleyan fell to host Cedarville 5-4 in a Great Midwest Athletic Conference contest and bounced back to defeat the Yellow Jackets 4-1 in a non-conference tilt on Saturday.
Amber Pendergraft scored the Panther's first run in the first on a throwing error. CU came back in the bottom half of the frame to score three runs.
Ashley Crooke started the third with an RBI double to left center field scoring
Mackenzie Weedman. Josalyn Parker followed with an RBI single to right field to bring Crooke as KWC tied the game at three-all.
The Yellow Jackets scored their fourth run in the fifth on a base loaded hit-by-pitch.
Kayla Norris tied the contest at four with an RBI single to center field sending Parker across the plate.
CU score the game-winning run in the sixth on a RBI single to centerfield.
Parker and Pendergraft each collected two of the Panther's eight hits. The Yellow Jackets had 11.
Casey Smith (9-4) received the loss in throwing the final five frames.
The fourth and final contest of the series saw
Josalyn Ress throw seven innings while allowing only one run on three hits to earn her ninth win of the season (9-5).
Mackenzie Weedman started the first with an RBI single to center field to score Parker. Weedman again in the third hit an RBI single to left field to send Pendergraft home for the 2-0 advantage.
CU cut the lead to 2-1 on a triple and a throwing error.

Samantha Marksbury scored KWC's third run on a throwing error.
Courtney Lockwood closed the game in the seventh with an RBI single to left field pushing Ovelgoenner across the plate for the 4-1 win.
Crooke, Lockwood and Weedman each produced two of the Panther's nine hits.
KWC (20-11, 10-4) host Alderson Broaddus on Monday at noon.
