Box Score 2 Kentucky Wesleyan split a Great Midwest Athletic Conference doubleheader at Cedarville on Friday. The Panthers lost 4-2 and came back to win 6-3.
In the first contest, the Yellow Jackets jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first inning before the Panthers responded.
Kaci Ovelgoenner hit a two-run homer to center field in the third to bring
Samantha Marksbury across the plate for the 2-2 tie.
CU answered with two more runs in the bottom in the third for the final score as neither team scored in final four frames.
Josalyn Ress (8-5) received the loss. She threw six innings and five strikeouts and allowed one walk.

The Panthers loaded the bases before
Jessica Carmon's hit by pitch brought in Marksbury. Josalyn Parker RBI off a fielder's choice sent Ovelgoenner home. Parker and Carmon scored off a Lockwood double to center field to close the four-run inning.
CU bounced back to add two runs in the sixth to cut the lead to 5-3.
Mackenzie Weedman opened the seventh a with double and Parker put the game away in the seventh by knocking home Weedman on a single to center field.
Casey Smith (9-3) earned the win by pitching six innings.
Jessica Carmon finished the game in the seventh to pick up her second save of the season.
KWC (19-10, 10-3) wraps up the four-game series with Cedarville (23-18, 11-5) on Saturday.
