Box Score Troy Paris and
Kyle Emig's RBIs lifted Kentucky Wesleyan to a 6-5 victory over visiting Indianapolis on Tuesday afternoon at Panther Park. Paris tied the contest 5-5 with an RBI double followed by Emig's game-winning RBI single in the sixth bringing home Paris for the go ahead and final run of the contest.
The Panthers jumped out to a 3-0 lead after two innings.
Seth Sharp connected with an RBI single sending
Josh Galvan across the plate and Sharp scored on a throwing error. Eberhardt closed the inning with another RBI single with
Nathan Stemle scoring.
Indianapolis then got on the score board with one run in the fourth.
Dennis Koziel answered in the bottom of the fourth by driving in
Tyler Howard on a single for KWC's fourth run to make it 4-1.
The fifth inning saw the Greyhounds score four unearned runs without collecting a hit for the 5-5 tie.
The Panthers had 10 hits to UIndy's four. Galvan, Koziol and Paris each produced two hits.
Evan Mohr (3-0) picked up the win by throwing 2.1 innings and three strikeouts.
Justin Kittel came in relief in the ninth to seal the win with two strikeouts to capture his sixth save of the season.
Andrew Moralez started the contest and struck out seven and
Austin Tibbs had one. Overall the KWC pitching staff registered 13 strikeout compared to the Greyhounds two.
The Panthers (21-12) travel to Oakland City for a four-game series on Friday, April 17, and Saturday, April 18. Both days start at noon.
