KWC sees season end in G-MAC Championship game

Box Score

Looking to continue their historic season with a defense of their Great Midwest Athletic Conference championship, Kentucky Wesleyan faced off against Cedarville in the title game.

KWC would lead twice in the first half, but an 8-0 run by Cedarville late in the first half was too much and the Panthers saw their historic season come to end by a score of 63-52.  KWC finishes the season with 20 wins for the third straight year and a school record of 13 wins in conference play.

The Panthers trailed early, but took an 8-7 lead on a Brittany Wells free throw with 12:34 left in the first half.  Cedarville would take back the lead two possessions later before Wells put KWC back on top with a jumper to make the score 10-9.

Cedarville would take the lead with 6:04 left in the half and would go on the 8-0 run that would end with 2:54 left in the half.  KWC would trail at the break, 31-18.

KWC would score the first five points of the second half, before Cedarville put the game away with an 11-0 run to lead by 19 with 13:57 left in the game.  The Panthers would chip the lead down to 7, but it wouldn't be enough as Cedarville came away with the championship, 63-52.

Jennifer Walker-Crawford led the Panthers with 13 points while Brittany Wells was the only other KWC player to finish in double-figures with 11.
