Box Score 2 Trying to bounce back from a tough game two loss, Kentucky Wesleyan baseball tried to salvage a series split in the final two games against Trevecca.
GAME 3 – TNU 13, KWC 2 (8 innings)
A Trevecca three-run home run in the third inning gave the Trojans an early lead, but the Panthers attempt ted to chip away when
Troy Paris brought home
Dennon Koziol to cut the lead to 3-1 in the fourth. Trevecca would score three more times in the fourth and once in the fifth to take a 7-1 lead through four and a half.
Josh Vance would drive in Paris in the fifth to cut the deficit to 7-2, but that was all the Panthers could muster, as Trevecca score six runs over the next to innings to come away with a 13-2 victory.Â
Andrew Moralez picked up the loss for KWC in the contest.
GAME 4 – TNU 10, KWC 2 (9 innings)
The second game on Saturday was a 1-0 game in favor of Trevecca until the sixth, when the Trojans scored three times to take a 4-0 lead. Back-to-back RBI's in the sixth from
Johnathan Eberhardt and
Chad Klein would cut the lead in half at 4-2 after six.
Unfortunately for the Panthers, Trevecca would score five times in the seventh and once in the eighth and the KWC bats were kept quiet, as the Trojans were able to take 3-of-4 for a 10-2 win.Â
Sammy Holder was the loser in the final game of the series for KWC.
Next up for the Panthers is a trip to Kentucky State on Tuesday afternoon. First pitch of the doubleheader from Frankfort is set for noon CT.
