Box Score 2 After starting Friday night 2-0, Kentucky Wesleyan softball returned to the field last Saturday afternoon for a doubleheader with Delta State and Maryville.
Ashley Crooke combined to go 2-for-6 with an RBI in the doubleheader, while
Casey Smith had an both RBI's in game two. Smith also proceeded to throw a no-hitter in the second game, while surrendering only a pair of walks.
GAME THREE – DELTA STATE 4, KWC 1Crooke's RBI single in the third inning game the Panthers a brief lead, but Delta St. would add two in the fourth and two in the sixth to come away with a 4-1 win.Â
Jessica Carmon was the starter for KWC, allowing five hits and two runs in five innings with a strikeout, and Smith came in for the final two innings, allowing two runs on three hits with one strikeout in her frames.
GAME FOUR – KWC 2, MARYVILLE 0Smith pitched a no-hitter, surrendering two walks to pick up her second win of the season as the Panthers improved to 3-1 on the year with the 2-0 win. Smith also had both RBI's in the game for KWC, with a two-run single in the fourth.
Jaclyn Parker, Crooke, Smith and
Kaci Ovelgoenner were the only hits for the Panthers in the win, and Crooke and Ovelgoenner crossed the plate on Smith's single.
