With a veteran team returning, Kentucky Wesleyan softball begins the 2015 season with six games on the road at the Charger Chillout hosted by the University of Alabama-Huntsville.
KWC begins their season with a doubleheader on Friday, Feb. 6 against Montevallo and Miles, with first pitch being thrown at 3 p.m. CT. The Panthers will play a doubleheader against Delta State and Maryville (Mo.) on Saturday, Feb. 7, with first pitch scheduled at 2 p.m., CT.Â
Finally, on Sunday, Feb. 8, they conclude their trip with games against fifth-ranked Wayne State and Saint Joseph's. First pitch for the final doubleheader is scheduled for 9 a.m. CT.
The Panthers return four All-Great Midwest Athletic Conference performers,
Kaci Ovelgoenner,
Ashley Crooke,
Josalyn Ress and
Mackenzie Weedman from last year's 26-18 squad.Â
They also have four newcomers with a pair of freshmen,
Jaclyn Parker and
Courtney Lockwood plus a pair of transfers,
Alexis Chapman and
Samantha Marksbury.Â
KWC spends the entire month of February on the road before their first home games on March 7, against Missouri S&T at noon CT.
