Box Score Ken-Jah Bosley refused to drop a second matchup to conference foe Cedarville.
Bosley scored all 11 of his points in the final three minutes of regulation and overtime to lift the Kentucky Wesleyan men's basketball team to an 81-77 victory on Saturday afternoon at the Sportscenter.
"Late game situations, I like to try to be there for my team," said Bosley, who scored the team's final eight points in regulation. "I know I wasn't playing well, so I wanted to do something positive for my team, and luckily I did.
"(The four-point play) definitely gave me a lot of confidence, knocking that down. It felt good coming out of my hand, and I knew it was going to go in. The ref called the foul to put the cherry on top, and I was really aggressive after that, trying to get as many clutch baskets as I could. I got to the free-throw line, made a couple of 3s, and we won the game."
C.J. Blackwell paced KWC (18-6, 7-3 in G-MAC) with 18 points and eight rebounds, and Devin Langford scored 15 points off the bench. Reserve Tre Boutilier added 12 points and eight boards, and Basil Deveaux also had 11 points. Four Panthers had four or more assists.
Austin Pickett led Cedarville (10-15, 6-5) with 20 points, while Reineke finished with 19. Leighton Smith chipped in 11 points as the Yellow Jackets shot 47.1 percent (24-of-51) from the field and 40 percent (10-of-25) from long range.
The Panthers shot 48.4 percent (30-of-62) from the floor and 36.8 percent (7-of-19) from beyond the arc and also held advantages in paint scoring (40-20), points off turnovers (28-14), second-chance scoring (13-4), fast-break points (12-4) and bench scoring (34-15).
"We needed to win a close game, and we've won a close game now," second-year KWC coach Happy Osborne said. "That'll help us. Was it as solid and smooth as I hoped it would be? No, but I don't think anybody watching left. People got their money's worth, and they got overtime too. It was a win, and bluntly, we had to have it. Now we go to West Virginia still with a chance to win the conference."
