Armed with a second place finish and 31 wins last season, Kentucky Wesleyan baseball begins the 2015 season this weekend.
KWC travels to Tigerville, S.C. for the first of a three game series against North Greenville University. First pitch on Friday is scheduled for 2:30 CT and Saturday's doubleheader is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. CT.
"We're excited for this season," said head coach
Todd Lillpop. "The guys have been working hard. We are very pleased with the track our players are on."
KWC returns 21 players from last season's 31-17 team, including six All-Great Midwest Athletic Conference performers. Those six players helped the Panthers earn two first-place votes and a second ranking in the preseason G-MAC coach's poll.
North Greenville has started the season 2-3 so far, with one more game before they play KWC this weekend.
"We've been outside getting ready," continued Lillpop. "We're excited to go south and we are excited to see new faces. It's going to be a good test for us early."
