Kentucky Wesleyan will play four matches this week, starting on Wednesday on the road against Trevecca. They will then host a trio of matches consisting from Friday-Sunday all at Jones Gymnasium. Two of the three home matches will be G-MAC opponents against Salem International on Friday, and Ohio Valley on Saturday.
The Panthers enter this week with a 7-16 (1-5 G-MAC) record, and are coming off of a tough hard-fought five set loss to Cedarville. Prior to the loss, Kentucky Wesleyan had won five consecutive matches, and six out of their past eight.
Coach
Eric Hagan talked about last week's conference win over Ursuline and close loss to Cedarville, "In the Ursuline match last week, we came out very focused and were able to avenge the loss we had at their place earlier in the season. I like our execution. We were blocking, getting some good touches, which transitioned into finishing plays. We did not execute well defensively against Cedarville. To know we still stayed with them all the way is really encouraging."
Wednesday's match against Trevecca 13-11 (3-3 G-MAC) will begin at 6 p.m.
Hagan on the enduring schedule, "With our remaining conference matches, we cannot have any more hick-ups along the way."
Kentucky Wesleyan is 1-5 in conference play, but will play conference opponents in four of their final five regular season matches. They match up with Trevecca twice in that span.
The Panthers will play host to Salem International 5-18 (0-5 G-MAC) on Friday at 7 p.m., Ohio Valley 10-17 (3-2 G-MAC) at 1 p.m. on Saturday, and an out of conference match against Missouri-St. Louis (12-14) on Sunday at 2 p.m.
Hagan on playing four matches this week, "It will be a great challenge for us; we obviously have a lot of matches this week, which will be tough, but I think this is something that can help us along the way if we get into the conference tournament."
