Football ends season with loss

Dalton Oliver threw for 388 yards and four touchdowns in Kentucky Wesleyan's 42-27 loss at East Tennessee in the Panthers final game in 2015.
 
Oliver connected on 43-of-53 passes. His main targets were Xavier Mitchell and Keelan Cole as they caught 12 passes. Mitchell accumulated a game-high 127 yards and Cole picked up 121.Travion Tucker and Darius Chandler grabbed seven receptions with 60 and 51 yards respectfully.
 
East Tennessee scored first on a nine-yard run by Austin Herink with 6:49 in the first quarter. They followed
with a 22-yard pass from Herink to Falon Lee at the 6:56 mark in the second.
 
Keelan Cole put the Panthers on the scoreboard with a 42-yard pass from Oliver shortly before halftime
to cut the lead to 14-7.
 
The Buccaneers opened the third with two quick scores. Lee collected his second touchdown of the day by catching a 40-yard pass from Demetrius Anthony and then Jajuan Stinson grabbed a 24-yard pass from Herink to extend the lead to 28-7.
 
The Panthers fought back with two straight touchdowns in the third. Oliver threw back-to-back touchdown passes with an 18-yarder to Travion Tucker and a 16-yard toss to Darius Chandler to shorten the deficit to 28-21.
 
In the fourth, Herink threw a 50-yard pass to Hunter Wilke with 7:01 remaining. Cole posted his second score on a 11-yard pass from Oliver at the 4:49 mark, the extra-point failed, for the Panthers to within eight at 35-27. Herink scored the final touchdown on a 37-yard rush with 2:16 left for final tally at 42-27.
 
The Panthers finished the season a 5-6.
