Game notesThe Kentucky Wesleyan football team will play their final game of the 2015 season on the road against East Tennessee State on Saturday at Noon CT. The Panthers will come into Saturday with a record of 5-5. Kentucky Wesleyan's four game winning streak came to an end after falling to Alderson Broaddus 48-29 last Saturday.
Coach
Brent Holsclaw on last week's loss to Alderson Broaddus, "They came out playing harder, and that's on me. We came out flat. It starts with the head coach, and that's on me. There was a lot going on before the game with the Senior Day ceremonies, and I just did not have them ready to play. AB came ready to play and you have to give them credit. They deserved to win that football game. I take full responsibility for last Saturday, and we are going to bounce back this weekend."
East Tennessee State is 1-9 on the season, and is coming off a loss last Saturday to Gardner-Webb by a score of 28-3. The Bucs are averaging 13.8 points per game on offense, and are giving up 38.9 points per game to opponents.
Holsclaw on the preparations for East Tennessee State, "We are right now in the middle of our game plan for Saturday. We don't know a whole lot about them other than that they are re-starting their football program this year. The bottom line is that they have division one coaches and division football players. We are going to have to be on the top of our game like we were against Pembroke to have a chance to win the game. There's no doubt in my mind that our young men will bounce back."
Kentucky Wesleyan is scoring 32.4 points per game, and is giving up 30.2 points per game to opponents. Quarterback
Dalton Oliver is averaging 302 passing yards per game.
Keelan Cole leads Kentucky Wesleyan with 15 touchdown receptions, and 1,224 receiving yards. Cole is bringing in 136 reception yards each game. Â
Holsclaw on what the Panthers need to do better offensively, "I've said it a lot this year, but we need to run the football better. Last week we had very minimal yards rushing, but Alderson Broaddus did a nice job defensively of against our offense."
