Box Score The Kentucky Wesleyan volleyball team fell to Trevecca in five sets (22-25, 22-25, 25-20, 25-16, 6-15) at the G-MAC quarterfinals in Mason, OH on Thursday evening. The Panthers rallied from a two set deficit and forced a decisive fifth set, but fell short. The Panthers (9-20, 3-8 G-MAC) season officially comes to a close with the defeat.
In the first set, the score remained close for Trevecca seemingly the whole way. The Trojans built a small lead, but saw Kentucky Wesleyan make a comeback and cut into the lead. The Trojans held off the Panthers late surge and won the opening set 25-22.
It was the same result in the second set. Kentucky Wesleyan began the set on top and held an early 8-4 lead. However, Trevecca re-took the lead and led the Panthers 18-16 later on in the set. This time Trevecca built a 22-16 advantage, but once again Kentucky Wesleyan wouldn't go away. The Panthers cut into the lead and made it close, but Trevecca prevailed 25-22.
Kentucky Wesleyan would not be denied in the third set. After jumping out to a big 7-0 lead, Trevecca was able to close the gap. The Panthers would hold on to the lead this time. After leading the Trojans 20-18, the Panthers won several big points at the net, and took the set 25-20.
In the fourth set, it was all Kentucky Wesleyan. The Panthers for the time being were able to take the Trojans out of their rhythm and held an 8-4 lead in the set. Kentucky Wesleyan continued its dominant play, and built their largest lead of the match, at 18-10 before Trevecca called timeout. The Panthers were still able to control the set and held on to the momentum with a 25-16 fourth set win.
In the fifth and final set, Trevecca jumped straight out of the gates and put Kentucky Wesleyan on their heels. The Trojans led 8-2 as both teams switched sides. Kentucky Wesleyan was unable to answer any of the Trojans attacks, and Trevecca clinched the match with the 15-6 set victory.

Gabrielle Gallois also notched in 14 kills.
Sarah Swenson collected 55 assists.
Nicole Venema tallied 23 digs, and
Emily Yocom also provided 12.
