Box Score Kentucky Wesleyan lost to visiting Alderson Broaddus 48-29 in the inaugural Great Midwest Athletic Conference "Founders Cup Game" on Saturday afternoon at Steele Stadium. The Battlers won "Battle for the Mining Cart" trophy.

The Panthers were led by Oliver Dalton with 293 passing yards and two touchdowns by completing 29 of 51 passes with two interceptions.
Keelan Cole caught 11 passes for 136 yards and two touchdowns while rushing twice for 27 yards and one touchdown.
Xavier Mitchell grabbed seven passes for 69 yards and one touchdown.

The Battlers jumped out to 14-0 lead in the first quarter. Quarterback Dakota Bruggeman started AB's scoring with a one-yard run. Bruggeman followed with a six-yard pass to David Reed to close the period.

In the second, Bruggeman threw a 20-yarder to Jacob Miller to extend the lead to 21-0 before the Panthers responded.
Xavier Mitchell scored on a 10-yard pass from
Dalton Oliver and
Cole Woodburn's extra-point kick to cut the advantage to 21-7.

AB's Tory Lee followed with 28-yard catch from Burggeman to push out to 28-7. Cole scored KWC's second touchdown with an end-around 25-yard run and a Woodburn kick to shorten the lead to 28-14 at halftime.

Woodburn opened the third quarter by connecting on a 22-yard field goal to reduce the margin to 28-17. AB's Bruggeman then tossed a 37-yard pass to Cooper Schroeder to double the lead at 34-17 after the PAT missed.

Lee grabbed his second pass, a six-yarder, from Bruggeman to start the final quarter at 41-17. Â Cole scored his second touchdown grabbing a three-yard pass from Oliver and KWC's 23rd point.

AB's Brehon Daniels followed with a two-yard run to stretch to move the scoreboard to 48-23. Cole collected his third touchdown on a 19-yard reception from Oliver to settle on the final tally 48-29.

The Battlers collected 514 yards in total offense including 413 passing compare to the Panthers total 313.

The Panthers (4-5) play at East Tennessee State (1-9) next Saturday.
