Â
The Panthers and Battlers will clash on the gridiron for the rights to hoist a 60-pound bronze mining cart on a set of rails as the winning prize.
Â

Â
Saturday's contest was formed to sustain a rivalry between the two respective schools as football starts to play a more prominent role in the league.
Â
Kentucky Wesleyan (5-4 overall) and Alderson Broaddus (6-4 overall) are the two current institutions in the G-MAC that sponsor the sport of football.
Â
With the recent conference expansion, the G-MAC will feature at least eight football-sponsored schools for the 2017-18 academic year. Malone will join the G-MAC in 2016-17 while Findlay, Hillsdale, Lake Erie, Ohio Dominican and Walsh, are set to enter the league in 2017-18.
Â
KWC and AB currently compete as independents in football at the NCAA Division II level.
Â
The Panthers are finding their stride late in the regular season and will enter Saturday's contest on a four-game win streak, recently sustained with a huge win last weekend against UNC-Pembroke.Â
Alderson Broaddus reeled off five consecutive wins to begin the 2015 campaign. After hitting a minor speed bump with a three-game slide, the Battlers got back on the winning track against Virginia Lynchburg before falling against nationally-ranked Charleston last week.
