Game Notes

Kentucky Wesleyan will travel on Saturday to Davidson, N.C. to take on the Davidson Wildcats at Richardson Stadium at noon.

The Panthers enter the game with a 1-3 record, coming off a decisive 35-7 win over Central State.

Coach Brent Holsclaw talked about his defense in last week's win, "Our defense was stellar for all four quarters, and that's why I'm so encouraged sitting here today."

On the game plan against Davidson, "We're going to have to be on our toes, and try and keep things simple this week and go over and do the best we can against a really good football program. They are a very disciplined team and they present a lot on film. We will have to be ready to go on Saturday to have a chance to win this one."

Davidson is giving up 45 points per game on defense, but have played stiff competition in several of their games.

Coach Holsclaw talked about the key's to winning on offense, "It's going to start with running the football. There's no doubt in my mind that Keelan Cole and Xavier Mitchell will be the best players on the field. They are just on another level. We have to put the ball in their hands."

Holsclaw on his team and coaching staff's confidence, "Winning cures a lot of problems. We've still got our issues, but the ride back home last Saturday and our practice Sunday afternoon was much more upbeat."

Kickoff is set for noon CT.
