Moving to 3-0 in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference with a win over Ursuline Monday night, Kentucky Wesleyan women's basketball returns to the court with their sights set on sole possession of first place in the G-MAC.
Tomorrow afternoon at 1 pm. CT, KWC will get that chance when they face the Trojans of Trevecca at the Sportscenter. The last time the two teams played the Panthers came away with an 80-76 win in the G-MAC championship game last year in Nashville.
KWC enters the game 7-5 overall with the perfect G-MAC record.Â
Jordanne Gambill is pacing the Panthers in scoring this season, averaging 12.3 points-per-game and 17 ppg in G-MAC play.Â
Bria Wright leads the team in rebounding at 6.1 per contest and also has a team best 27 assists.
As a team on the offensive end, the Panthers average 68 points and 40 rebounds per game while shooting 39 percent from the floor, 31 percent from the three-point area and 68 percent at the free throw line. Â Defensively, KWC is holding opponents to 63 points and 38 rebounds per contest, only allowing 38 percent shooting from the floor and 30 percent from the three-point arc.
Trevecca is 6-7 on the season and 3-0 in the G-MAC. Kaci Britt Bell is the leading scorer for the Trojans, averaging 11.9 ppg and also leads the team in rebounding at 6.6 rpg while Christina Curtner has a team-high 45 assists.
