A 2-1 win over Cedarville in their last match evened Kentucky Wesleyan women's soccer's record at 1-1 in G-MAC play.
This weekend, KWC travels to Nashville to take on Trevecca looking to improve to 2-1 in the conference.
"We knew going in that last weekend was going to be a tough weekend," said head coach
Jamie Duvall. "We played with a lot of energy early in the game. Scored a couple of goals early and it turns out that's all we needed to get through."
Annie Elder leads the goal scoring for the Panthers (4-2), with her fourth goal coming in the Cedarville game.
Katlyn Duke has three assists to pace KWC and
Kathryn Dishion has played the majority of the minutes in goal, making seven saves.
Trevecca enters the contest 3-2 on the season. Anna Hoffman leads the Trojans in goals with three on the season and Liz Denton has played the majority of the minutes in goal, making 28 saves.
When asked how his team is preparing for Trevecca, Duvall responded: "We are working to cut out the mistakes and to get better every week. We are trying to get into a position to host a conference playoff game."
KWC plays their conference home opener on Oct. 2 against Davis & Elkins.
