Volleyball drops below .500 after getting swept 3-0 by Southern Indiana

Box Score
After a competitive first set that ended 25-22, the Kentucky Wesleyan College volleyball team seemingly ran out of gas, losing the final two sets 25-13 and 25-16 to fall to 2-3 on the season at the hands of Southern Indiana.  This was the only home game in the month of September for KWC.

"We came out, first set, and we were playing at a high level," said head coach Eric Hagan after the game. "We had the lead, back-and-forth in the first set with our 6-2 offense, but we ended up losing it.  We decided to change things in the second set and run a 5-1.  That didn't go so well.  USI is a very good team.  They caught us out of position at times."

Summer Alford finished the match with 10 kills, Courtney Gildea and Morgan Switalla both had 10 assists and Hannah Hudnall once again led the team in digs with 16.

Hagan added: "We are a very veteran team, but we are inexperience in some crucial areas.  I gave a pretty good speech to them before the third set and we came out looking pretty good.  We just gave up a couple big runs and they were able to pull away.

KWC continues their season at Brescia next Tuesday, Sept. 16 at 7:00 p.m.
