Box Score 2 Kaleb Moore threw a two-hitter to lead Kentucky Wesleyan to a 5-1 victory over Davis & Elkins in Great Midwest Athletic Conference action on Saturday afternoon at Panther Park in their final regular season game. The victory marked the fourth 30-win season in Panther baseball history.
Connor Petschke went four-for-four at the plate including a double while driving in two runs.
David Murphy also knocked in two runs on a double and
Tyler Howard brought home the other run with a triple. Jonathan Eberhardt collected two hits.
Moore improved to 5-2 by pitching eight innings, striking out five and walking one.
Noah Boswell came in relief in the ninth and allowed one hit.
In the first contest, the Senators shutout the Panthers, 5-0, by holding them to just three hits.
Andrew Moralez (4-4) received the loss. He had one strikeout, two walks, two earned runs and allowed eight hits in five and two-thirds innings.
Austin Tibbs closed the final inning with a strikeout.
KWC (30-14, 17-17 G-MAC) will open as the No. 2 seed in the G-MAC Championship against Salem International at Prasco Park in Mason, Ohio at 1:15 CT on Wednesday.
