Mackenzie Weedman each collected three hits in leading Kentucky Wesleyan to a 6-1 victory over Ohio Valley in the first round of the Great Midwest Athletic Conference Championship in Vienna, WVa., on Thursday afternoon.
Weedman produced the Panther's first run in the third inning on RBI single to grab the lead for good at 1-0.
In the fifth, Weedman hit a single to drive in the second score.
Jessica Carmon followed with a RBI ground out. The next run came off an error.
Kyli Smithson knocked in the fifth run on a single.
Kelsey Miller closed the inning with a single driving in the sixth and final run.
The Fighting Scots scored their run in the sixth.
Casey Miller (7-8) went the distance on the mound to earned the victory. She allowed seven hits, one walk and one run facing 28 batters.
