In the opener the Battlers scored four in the third, one in the fourth and one in the fifth and four in the sixth as they cruised to a 10-1 victory over the Panthers.
 
KWC scored their only run on a Kyli Smithson sacrifice fly to send Josalyn Rees home.
 
ABU collected 11 hits and the Panthers had five. Casey Smith had KWC's only extra-base hit with a double.
 
Ress (7-5) received the loss where she pitched six innings and had three strikeouts.
 
The Panthers bounced back in the second contest by coming from behind to earn the 8-5 win.
 
The Battlers got on the scoreboard first with one run in the second and KWC responded with three in the bottom half of the inning. Casey Smith's RBI double brought to the plate Ashley Crooke. Jessica Carmon then hit a single to drive home Kyli Smithson and Smith.
 
ABU came back with three in the fourth for the 4-3 lead. Smith hit a double sending Mackenzie Weedman home to tie the game, 4-4, in the bottom half of the inning.
 
The Battlers added their fifth and final run of the contest in the fourth grabbing their second advantage at 5-4.
 
The fifth and sixth saw the Panthers produce back-to-back two-run innings to take the lead for good.
 
Smithson's triple knocked in Smith and Carmon followed with a RBI single driving in Smithson to extend the score to 6-5 after five frames.
 
Ovelgoenner ground out forced Kelsey Miller home and Crooke's sacrifice fly scored Amber Pendergraft for KWC's final two runs to settle on the final tally in the sixth.
 
Smith collected three hits and had two RBIs while Carmon posted three RBIs.
 
Carmon (4-1) earned the win by throwing five and two/thirds innings and striking out one. Casey Smith received her first save of the year.
