Box Score
Riding a two game winning streak, the Kentucky Wesleyan women's basketball team opened their Great Midwest Athletic Conference portion of the season tonight against Ohio Valley University.

Jordanne Gambill was the only Panther to score in double-figures, leading the way with 10 points in 58-45 win for KWC.  With the win, the Panthers moved to 3-4 on the season and 1-0 in Great Midwest Athletic Conference play.

Neither team shot very well in the first half, and Ohio Valley pulled out to an 8-5 in the first 10 minutes.  A jumper from Jennifer Walker-Crawford and a free throw from Katie Miller, who earned her first start, tied the game at eight with 9:35 left in the first half.

KWC closed the half on a 14-8 run and went into the locker room with a 22-16 advantage.  Ohio Valley was able to cut the lead to four at the beginning of the second half, but a three-point play from Bria Wright sealed all hopes of a comeback, putting the Panthers up 25-18 with 19:25 left.

Over the next 8:13, KWC dominated, going on a 12-3 run to push the lead to 16 after a pair of Walker-Crawford free throws with 11:12 left in the game.  The lead would never drop below double digits again and it grew to 17, the largest margin of the game, after a three by Miller with 10:07 left.  KWC would close out the game with a 58-45 win.

Wright led the Panthers with eight rebounds.  KWC, as a team, shot 41 percent from the floor, outrebounded OVU 42-29 and dominated in every other aspect of the game.

Next up for KWC is a trip to Salem, West Va., on Saturday to take on G-MAC foe Salem International.  Tip-off is set for 1 p.m. CT.
