Box Score Earning the fourth seed in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference tournament, Kentucky Wesleyan opened with a familiar foe in Trevecca.
Summer Alford posted a double-double with 10 kills and 19 digs as KWC swept Trevecca 25-16, 25-16, 25-21 to move on to the G-MAC semifinals tomorrow.
"Great team effort," said head coach
Eric Hagan. "I am proud of their focus, energy, effort and the way we finished plays."
Alford, who was named a G-MAC first team performer earlier in the day, led KWC in both kills and digs in the match.Â
Sarah Swenson, another G-MAC all-conference performer, finished the match with 43 assists and
Hannah Hudnall had 16 digs to move to within three digs of her single-season record of 459 set last year.
The Panthers move on tomorrow to face top-seed and host Cedarville at 5:30 p.m. CT. KWC struggled against Cedarville this season, losing both matches.
"Tough match versus Cedarville tomorrow," replied Hagan, when asked about moving on. "We need to repeat what we did today."
