Preview: Women's Soccer opens G-MAC Tournament at home

After a pair of losses to end the regular season, Kentucky Wesleyan women's soccer enters the Great Midwest Athletic Conference tournament as the number four seed.

KWC will face Cedarville in a quarterfinal matchup tomorrow at 3:00 p.m. on Panther Field.  The Panthers split with Cedarville in a pair of regular season matchups this season, with each team winning on the other's home field.

"It was a classic case of being worn out," said head coach Jamie Duvall.  "For the first 85 minutes we did ok.  If you give them that kind of opportunity, they will capitalize on it."

A regular season record of 9-6-1 has KWC sitting one win shy of tying the single season record for wins set last year.  Katlyn Duke, Annie Elder and Penni Pluimer are the co-leaders in goals with five each, Paige Kramer has five assists and Kathryn Dishion has played the majority of the minutes in goal, making 54 saves and registering two shutouts.

Cedarville has an identical 9-6-1 record entering the match.  Grace Miorelli leads the team in goals scored with nine and Hanna Harris has played the majority of the minutes in goal, making 68 saves.

"They have virtually the same roster," added Duvall when asked about the familiarity with Cedarville.  "It's going to come down to who plays harder and who wants it more."

The winner of the match advances to the semifinals to face number one Ursuline in Pepper Pike, Ohio on Nov. 6.
