Volleyball wins tough match with Oakland City

In a hard fought match that saw two sets go to extra points, Kentucky Wesleyan volleyball was able to come away with a three set sweep over Oakland City tonight.

KWC would take the first set 25-15, but had to come from behind in the last two sets, winning those 32-30 and 27-25.  Rae Garvison, Sarah Swenson and Hannah Hudnall led the way for the Panthers in the match.

Garvison finished with a team high 14 kills, Swenson had 35 assists and Hudnall had 21 digs.  Nikki Jenkins was the only other player to finish the night in double digits in a category, with 10 kills.

Ashley Pickert had five service aces in the match, including three in a row in set two to get KWC back into the set and help them eventually win.

The Panthers return to the court on Sunday for a tri-match against Illinois-Springfield and McKendree in Springfield.
