KWC starts big G-MAC weekend tonight

With a win over Trevecca on Tuesday night, Kentucky Wesleyan volleyball ran their winning streak to two games.

This weekend, KWC plays G-MAC contests against Davis & Elkins tonight and Alderson Broaddus tomorrow.

"It was a great win in a hostile environment," said head coach Eric Hagan.  "We came out in the first set and played really well.  We had great energy in the locker room during the intermission.  We just didn't make plays in the third set and we lost that one.  Trevecca was up 19-11 at one point in the fourth set and I told them to refocus and get back to the basics and we pulled that set out 26-24."

KWC is 7-6 overall and 2-1 in the G-MAC.  Summer Alford has 121 kills, Courtney Gildea has 226 assists and Hannah Hudnall has 193 digs, all of which lead the team.  Gildea and Alford have also posted the only double-doubles of the year for the Panthers.

D&E is 4-7 overall and 1-3 in the G-MAC.  Alexis Mourier has a team best 119 kills, Haylee Murray has 174 assists to lead the team and Michaela Touchet has the lead in digs with 133.

AB is 5-14 overall and 2-2 in G-MAC play.  Megan Christmann leads the Battlers in kills with 184.  Kayla Peterson has a team best 432 assists and Lauren Hogan leads the team in digs with 250.

When asked about how his team was preparing for the matches, coach Hagan replied: "We are going to work on some of the areas we struggled with.  We will also go over the things that we did well.  It should be a fun weekend."
