Box Score A match that went back-and-forth all night long finally went the way of the Kentucky Wesleyan volleyball team tonight at home against Davis & Elkins.
KWC won the match 3-2 by scores of 25-17, 17-25, 25-19, 23-25 and 15-9 to improve to 8-6 overall and 3-1 in the G-MAC.
"We thought we were going to beat them in three," said
Chelsea Brothers after the game. "We, obviously, had a lot of downs. We struggled a lot. Our defense picked it up tonight and our energy helped us a lot."
Summer Alford paced the Panthers with 10 kills,
Morgan Switalla (17) and
Courtney Gildea (11) combined for 28 assists and
Hannah Hudnall had 22 digs to lead the way.
When asked about tomorrow's match, Brothers replied: "We are going to come in with energy. We need to talk. If we aren't talking, we aren't winning. Our defense at the net has to be there as well."
KWC returns to the court tomorrow against Alderson-Broaddus.
