Playing in the opening game of the Bearcat Brawl at Brescia University the Kentucky Wesleyan volleyball team knocked off Kentucky State in four sets on Friday night to better their season record to 8-2.
The Panthers won handily in the first two sets winning 25-12 and 15-14. During the first two games KWC did not trail and the score was tied only twice, both times occurring very early in the second set.
Kentucky State fought back in the third set after being down by as many as four points. The two teams battled it out to the very end before the Thorobrettes scored the final two points to win 25-23.
During the fourth set, the Panthers pulled ahead 14-6, but KSU make a late run before KWC finally closed out the set 25-18.
Sophomore
Dallas Zimmerman had a team high 15 kills.
Kentucky Wesleyan ended the match with an attacking percentage of .315.
The Panthers return to action in the Bearcat Brawl on Saturday, Sept. 28 at noon against the University of the Cumberlands.
