The Kentucky Wesleyan volleyball team swept Bellarmine in the Panthers home opener to beat the Knights for only the sixth time in program history and for the first time since 2001. KWC improved to 6-2 on the season following the victory.
During the first set the Panthers led from the start and built a five point lead. Bellarmine fought back to tie the set a couple times late, but KWC scored the final two points to take the first set 25-23.
In the second set the Knights jumped out to the early lead, but the Panthers who have fought back on several occasions this season were able to once again come from behind and eventually take the game 25-21.
KWC built a 10-4 lead in the third set and held the advantage until late into the game. Bellarmine tied the set at 24 all, but the Panthers closed out the set by scoring back-to-back points winning 26-24.
The Panthers had a .228 attacking percentage and recorded six blocks in the win.

Summer Alford led the team in kills with 13 and senior
Jordan Rickert tallied three service aces in the win.
