Kentucky Wesleyan lost to visiting Lewis, 5-0 and 3-2, in Great Lakes Valley Conference softball action on Sunday at Foster Field.
 
The Panthers were limited to two hits in the opening doubleheader in the loss. Ashlee Winstead threw six innings in the loss allowing seven hits and striking out two.
 
In the nightcap, Lewis jumped out to a 3-0 lead when they scored one in the second, one in the fifth and one in the sixth.
 
KWC responded in the top of the seventh with two runs. Meagan Sallee hit a RBI double driving home Kaci Ovelgoenner for the first run. Amber Pendergraft followed with a single to score Sallee to cut the lead to the final 3-2 result.
 
The Panthers had five hits to the Flyers nine.
 
Josalyn Ress received the loss by pitching six innings, allowing nine hits and two earned runs, and striking out one.
 
KWC (17-26, 11-19 GLVC) return to action on Wednesday, April 24, for a twilight doubleheader at Southern Indiana starting at 5 p.m.
