Kentucky Wesleyan split a Great Lakes Valley Conference doubleheader at Saint Joseph's on Saturday in Rensselaer, Ind.
 
In the opener, Meagan Sallee hit a RBI double to bring Ashley Crooke home in the first inning for the Panthers. The Pumas followed with a run for the 1-1 tie in the bottom half of the inning.
 
Once again in the sixth both teams scored a run with Amber Pendergraft hitting a RBI single to score Crooke for KWC.
 
In the seventh, Crooke posted a double to drive in Mackenzie Weedman and Kelsey Miller for the 4-2 lead. SJC brought home two in the bottom of the inning to tie the game for the third time.
 
The Pumas hit a solo home run in the bottom of the eleventh for the 5-4 victory.
 
KWC had 12 hits compared to 11. Kelsey Miller went three-for-six at the plate. Sallee, Crooke and Kaci Ovelgoenner collected two hits.
 
Ashlee Winstead received the loss in throwing 11 innings and recording four strikeouts.
 
In the nightcap, Saint Joseph's open the first inning with their only run of the contest for 1-0 lead.
 
Pendergraft started the Panthers rolling in the second with a RBI single advancing Sallee for the first of four runs. Kelsey Miller followed with an RBI double plus an leftfield error allowed Pendergraft, Clarissa Smith and Crooke to score.  
 
In the third, Weedman hit a double to drive in Alex Baumgart and then scored on a error by the catcher to extend the lead to 6-1.
 
Pendergraft closed the seventh with a RBI single to bring Sallee across the plate for KWC's final run for the 7-1 win.
 
The Panthers outhit the Pumas 15-6. Miler and Sallee both went three-for-four at the plate. Baumgart, Weedman and Pendergraft produced two hits a piece.
 
Josalyn Ress earned the win by pitching seven innings with three strikeouts and giving up six hits.
 
KWC plays at Lewis on Sunday at noon.
