Kourtney Rhoads paced a balanced attack with 16 points as Kentucky Wesleyan defeated host Bellarmine 71-63 in a women's Great Lakes Valley Conference basketball game Saturday at Knight's Hall in Louisville.
The Panthers (12-6, 8-3 GLVC) also got 14 points from Karly Rhoads and 12 points from Lauren Goffinet.
KWC zoomed to a 41-26 lead by intermission, then thwarted the Knights' comeback attempt down the stretch.
Bianca Barton had five rebounds for Wesleyan, which also got three assists each from Kailyn Mitchell, Barton and Karly Rhoads. T'Essence Phelps made three steals.
The Panthers shot 44 percent from the floor, including 6-of-22 accuracy from 3-point range (27 percent), and made 11-of-14 free throws (79 percent).
Bellarmine (16-6, 6-5) was led by former Owensboro Catholic High School star Rachel Greenwell and Darion Hutchinson, each of whom scored 11 points.
Greenwell made 3-of-7 shots from 3-point range.
The Knights were limited to 41 percent shooting, made 7-of-20 shots from 3-point range (35 percent), and sank 14-of-21 foul shots (67 percent).
The Panthers (12-6, 8-3) host Wisconsin-Parkside at the Sportscenter on Thursday at 5:15.
