Ashlee Winstead (Boonville, Ind./Boonville HS) pitched a season opening 1-0 shutout over Delta State at the Charger Chillout on Friday morning at Decatur, Ala.
Winstead threw eight strikeouts and allowed four hits in seven innings.

In the afternoon, KWC fell to host Alabama-Huntsville 12-0. Sophomore
Josalyn Ress (Tell City, Ind./Tell City HS) received the loss and threw three strikeouts in four innings for the Panthers.
KWC (1-1) will play Florida Tech at 1 p.m. and Wayne State (Mich.) at 5 p.m. on Saturday.
