Game Notes
Kentucky Wesleyan is coming off arguably its best performance of the season, a 35-27 home loss to Truman State.
Alas, the Panthers are still in search of their first win and will look to earn that against William Jewell on Saturday in their final home game of the season.
Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. at Steele Stadium.
KWC (0-9, 0-5 Great Lakes ValÂley Conference) appears evenly-matched with William Jewell (2-7, 1-4) on paper.
Both have struggled at times to score and are allowing large chunks of yardage on defense.
Jewell averages just under 20 points per game while KWC averÂages 16. The Panthers allow opposÂing offense to rack up an average of 506 yards and accumulate 256 on offense. William Jewell allows 438 yards of offense per game while averaging 287 as an offensive unit.
Special teams could be a factor, at which point KWC would likely have the advantage. The Panthers are No. 3 in the country in punt return yards (19.9 yards per game) and running back
Jeff Ward is No. 11 nationally in all-purpose yards per game with 185.7.
A win would put KWC into a tie with William Jewell in the GLVC standings.
