Volleyball drops 3-0 decision to Southern Indiana

The Kentucky Wesleyan volleyball team suffered only their fourth loss of the season, falling to the University of Southern Indiana 3-0 on Tuesday night in Evansville, Ind. The Panthers are 15-4 on the season and remain at 5-1 in the G-MAC.

Early in the first set there were six ties, but the Eagles eventually used an 8-1 run to pull away from the Panthers on their way to a 25-14 victory.

Southern Indiana carried the momentum into the second set using a 7-1 run early, before going ahead 2-0 in the match after winning 25-16.

KWC tried to make a run late in the third set after being down by as many as nine points, but the Eagles took the game 25-20.

Freshman Summer Alford led the Panthers with 10 kills. Senior Jordan Rickert had 27 assists freshman Allyson Banks posted 13 digs.

The Panthers travel to Nashville, Tenn. on Saturday, Oct. 19 to play G-MAC opponent Trevecca Nazarene at 1 p.m.
