Twin sisters Kourtney Rhoads and Karly Rhoads combined for 43 points as Kentucky Wesleyan defeated visiting Maryville (Mo.) 97-91 in double overtime in women's college basketball on Thursday at the Sportscenter.
Both scored career-highs with 22 (Kourtney) and 21 points (Karly). The 22-point effort also included eight of the Panthers 14 in the second overtime period.
The Panthers also got a career high 17 points plus six rebounds from Shelbi Tyra, and 15 points from Lauren Goffinet.
Kourtney Rhoads made 4-of-7 shots from 3-point range, and Goffinet made 3-of-7 from beyond the arc. Also for KWC, T'Essence Phelps grabbed a team-best nine rebounds and had five assists while Goffinet made three steals.
Maryville (5-5, 1-1) placed five players in double figures, led by Abby Duethman's game-high 24 points. Brittnye McSparron added 20. Duethman collected a game-high 11 rebounds and teammate Rita Flynn added 10.
Wesleyan was outrebounded substantially (49-33), but Maryville turned the ball over 23 times compared to just 11 miscues by the Panthers.
KWC (5-3, 1-0) hosts Missouri-St. Louis at 1 p.m. on Saturday.
