Shelbi Tyra scored a game-high 14 points and
Bianca Barton added 12 in Kentucky Wesleyan's 72-56 victory at Illinois-Springfield on Saturday afternoon to capture their first Great Lakes Valley Conference road win of the season.
The Panthers jumped out to a 13-point lead (17-4) with 12:47 left in the first period and held the margin at half 33-20.
They forged ahead to a 28-point advantage (58-30) with 9:36 in the second half before settling on the final score.

Kourtney Rhoads and
Kailyn Mitchell each grabbed a team-best five rebounds a piece.
Barton handed out five assists and
Lauren Goffinet had four rebounds.
KWC shot 58 percent from the field including 68 percent in the second half and 46 percent from the three-point arc while holding the Prairie Stars to 35.7 shooting.
The Panthers forced 18 turnovers on 10 steals.
UIS (4-8, 1-3 GLVC) was led by Mallory Beck and Megan Bergerud with 10 points each and Elizabeth Kelly with a game-high 11 rebounds.
The Panthers (7-4, 3-1 ) return home to host Indianapolis on Thursday, Jan. 17 at 5:15 CT.
