Kentucky Wesleyan nearly went the distance with a four-game volleyball match against Bellarmine in the Great Lakes Valley Conference opener for both teams on Friday night at Jones Gymnasium as the Panthers lost 4-1 (27-25, 20-25, 25-18, 25-18).
Bridget Johnson led the Panthers with 14 kills and a 35.5 hitting percentage.
Ashley Smith added 10 kills.
Linda Albrecht produced 39 assists, two aces, two blocks and five digs.
Chelsea Brothers and
MaryBeth Ryan each had four blocks.
