Kentucky Wesleyan closed the season by losing to host Central State 51-7 in Great Lakes Valley Conference football play on Saturday afternoon in Wilberforce, Ohio.
The Marauders (4-6, 4-4 GLVC) topped the Panthers with 511 total offensive yards including 395 rushing while KWC was held to 215 total yards.
Central State led 30-0 at the half and extended the lead to 37-0 in the middle of the third period before the Panthers (1-10, 0-8 GLVC) got on the scoreboard.
Devin Le'Gall caught a seven-yard pass from
Ta'Ron Squires and
Matt Wilson kicked the extra-point for KWC's only points with 5:31 remaining in the third.
The Marauders came back with two more scores in the fourth for the final tally.
The Panther's
Will Barnes completed 18 of 39 passes with one interception for 181 yards. Squires also threw four of six passes for 15 yards and the touchdown. Oliver Dalton also tossed one pass for eight yards.
Shawn Mooney and
Xavier Mitchell both caught five passes for 51 and 22 yards respectfully. Le'Gall grabbed four for 74 yards and the touchdown.
Dustin Harvey led the defensive effort with eight total tackles with 2.5 tackles for loss, a forced fumble, a pass breakup and a blocked kick.
